Kamloopsians who braved the blistering heat on Thursday helped ensure the grand opening of the Tk’emlups Car Wash was a success.
The car wash, which boasts six manual-wash stations and one fully automated wash station, was built as part of the Blue Coral Beyond Green program, meaning only environmentally friendly products are used to clean vehicles.
Kamloops residents will soon be served by a new carwash. The Tk’emlúps Indian Band (TIB) has recently had a ground breaking ceremony to initiate construction on the new carwash just south of the Tk’emlúps Petroleum Station.
The carwash will be located on the Chief Louie Centre lands near the intersection of Highway 5 and East Shuswap Road. The carwash will be owned and operated by the TIB, and will further economic development opportunities for the band and provide employment for its members.
May 2009--Kamloops, British Columbia- A Rotary Group Study Exchange visited the Tk’emlup’s Indian Band office May 11, 2009 seeking words of wisdom that they could take back with them to Northern Australia.
The group met with Chief Shane Gottfriedson and councilors Kevin Jules, Dave Manuel, Connie Leonard, Evelyn Camille and Fred Seymour where they learned about how the Tk’emlups Indian Band has been able to become a successful and thriving community and business.
