Washing in Success at Tk'emlups

Washing in Success at Tk'emlups

By Marty Hastings - Kamloops This Week

Kamloopsians who braved the blistering heat on Thursday helped ensure the grand opening of the Tk’emlups Car Wash was a success.

The car wash, which boasts six manual-wash stations and one fully automated wash station, was built as part of the Blue Coral Beyond Green program, meaning only environmentally friendly products are used to clean vehicles.

Manager Barry Hazlewood said the key to the long-term success of the car wash will be maintaining the quality service customers experienced during the grand opening.
“We want to make sure it continues to be a very clean, nice-looking, well-run business,” Hazlewood said.

Located at #300 Yellowhead Highway (at the corner of Highway 5 and East Shuswap Road, in the shadow of Sun Rivers), the car wash sits beside Tk’emlups Petroleum.
With a new coffee shop set to be introduced on-site in the near future, Hazlewood is looking forward to being a part of the expanding business community.

“The exciting part is the whole atmosphere of the car wash and making it a fun, exciting, enjoyable workplace.

“And the business end of it, too — we’re right beside the gas station and a future coffee shop, so there’s definitely room for expansion for all three of those businesses.”
Prices for the automatic wash range from $10 to $14.

Customers who choose to use the manual wash will pay $2 for four minutes.
