NOTICE OF REFERENDUM
NOTICE TO ALL ELECTORS OF THE TK'EMLUPS INDIAN BAND
In accordance with the Referendum Bylaw a Referendum will be held on November 27th, 2010 during the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the Gymnasium of the Sk’elep School of Excellence, 315 Yellowhead Hwy, Kamloops BC.
An Advance Poll will be held on November 20th, 2010 during the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the Gymnasium of the Sk’elep School of Excellence, 315 Yellowhead Hwy, Kamloops BC.
The Referendum is being held to determine the results of the following questions:
1. “In accordance with section 10 of the Indian Act, do you consent to Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc assuming control of its own membership, establishing membership rules for itself, and adopting the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Membership Code developed with input from the Membership Committee, and reviewed by legal counsel and approved in draft by Chief and Council on October 26th, 2010?
YES or NO
2. Should the Membership Code contain provisions which would bar from membership persons with a criminal conviction for an offence set out in the proposed Appendix “F” to the Membership Code?

A copy of the proposed Membership Code will be delivered to every Elector. Additional copies can be obtained by contacting the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Administrative Offices, 200 - 315 Yellowhead Hwy., Kamloops, BC (250) 828-9700.
An Electors List indicating those persons who are eligible to vote in this referendum is posted in the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Administrative Offices, 200 - 355 Yellowhead Hwy., Kamloops, BC.

Electors who are not ordinarily Resident on Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc reserve lands are entitled to vote by mail-in ballot and a mail-in ballot package will be sent to them.
