OPPORTUNITIES:
- The first opportunity is the Master Standing Offer for Fire Crew Services - Province wide like danger tree assessors and fallers and first aid services. Individuals or companies that are interested in providing these services, please direct them to the BC Bid website at www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca or contact Shirley Waldon at (250) 387-7300, if the attachments cannot be downloaded. Fire Crew Services are to be provided on an as, if and when requested basis for the period of April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2011.
- The second opportunity is for resources such as dozers, skidders, hoes and water tenders. These resources are signed up at the zone level using the attached Equipment Registration Form. Any individuals who are interested in signing this kind of equipment up for fire fighting, please have them contact Ken Westfall or Colin Swan at the Kamlops Fire Zone at (250) 554-5500 or by e-mail: ken.westfall@gov.bc.ca or Colin.E.Swan@gov.bc.ca
- The third opportunity is to provide for other field and office services such as GPS, GIS mapping, archaeology and other services not covered by the master standing offer. These resources are signed up at the zone level using the attached Field Services Registration Form. First Nations Bands with the existing capacity of the services noted in the form should comlete the form then contact Colin Swan at the Kamloops Fire Zone at (250) 554-5500 or by e-mail: Colin.E.Swan@gov.bc.ca.
- The fourth opportunity is for individuals to apply for employment as a crew person. For the online application portal please click on the http://bcwildfire.ca/Employment/. Please note that this option is now closed for 2010 and is expected to re-open in the fall of 2010.
